Mar 9 - Husqvarna expands Canadian Team

The FP Husqvarna / Zip-Ty Racing Canadian team announced that Ryan and Nick Graffunder from BC will be joining Guy Giroux and Marty Halmazna on the Husky team. They will be riding the entire CEC series as well as other select events. Last season Ryan was the winner of the Inside Motorcycles Top Pro Junior award. “I am really happy to have brothers Nick and Ryan Graffunder as part of this program” says Marc Coffin, Director of Racing for the FP Husqvarna / Zip-Ty Racing Canada Team. “We felt that it was important to support some young, rising stars that represent the future of this sport and I really wanted to reward riders who have proven that they have the skills and desire to compete at a top level.”

Jan 29 - Endurance available through World Enduro Canada

Many of you may already be familiar with the great book Endurance by Theresa Ortolani . She is a talented photographer from New York City who followed her good friend Nate Kanney around for three year as he raced in various GNCC and World Enduro Championship events. The book is a photographic essay of Nate and other riders efforts competing around the world. It would be a great addition to any motorcycle book collection and a beautiful gift. Jan 19 - Shane Watts to attend both western rounds

Shane had previously announced he will ride the Alberta round of the Royal Distributing CEC since he was in the area anyways with his Dirt Wise Riding Academy he has now decided since he was north of the border anyways that he may as well head west to Penticton, BC for rounds 3 & 4 on the following weekend. Shane will set up his school on the Thursday and Friday before the event at the Apex Ski resort. His site will be updated with this information soon and you can register on line. For eastern riders planning to head west to compete in CEC the WEC Royal Distributing race truck will be at both events in time for riders to participate in the school should they choose to get some pointers before the races. Dec 21 - Husqvarna entering a team in 2010 CEC

At the Toronto Motorcycle Show last weekend the new distributor for Husqvarna motorcycles in Canada, Barrett Marketing, announced they were entering a team of riders in the 2010 CEC. With Guy Giroux and Marty Halmazna confirmed they are now looking at a adding a few more riders to complete the team. Barrett understands that off road racing, and enduro racing in particular, is where Husqvarna has had the majority of its success around the world and will use the team's success to help take the brand to the next level in Canada.

Dec 14 - Big Announcement at the Toronto Motorcycle Show

This past weekend at the Toronto Motorcycle show Parts Canada announced their support of the Canadian National Enduro Championships. Parts Canada will be the Presenting sponsor in conjunction with the returning Title Sponsor Royal Distributing. Parts Canada is a leading distributor of aftermarket parts and accesories in the Canadian Powersports industry and World Enduro Canada is looking forward to working with them along with all our returning sponsors to make the 2010 Championship a more successful series.

Dec 8 - Shane Watts to ride the Alberta round

World Enduro and GNCC Champion Shane Watts has confirmed he will be competing at the opening round of the 2010 Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship in Blairmore, AB on July 3 & 4. Shane will be in Calgary the week prior to the event with his Dirtwise Academy of Off Road Riding. Check out his site for exact dates and times. Shane's riding schools have recieved rave reviews and there are limited openings at each one so you'll want to sign up early. Shane's racing skills should prove to be a good spoiler to the CEC Pro's.

Dec 7 - Catching up with Wojo

Brian "Wojo" Wojnarowski has been busy this fall. He went overseas with Team Canada to compete in the Six Days where he was the top finishing Canadian and since has been testing some new Yamaha's to decide which one he'll ride in the upcoming season. Over the winter Brian will be tuning his skills by riding indoor trials - something to give him an edge for the Extreme tests. You can visit with Brian at the World Enduro Canada booth at the Toronto Motorcycle Show this weekend.

World Enduro Canada is very pleased to announce that Kymco has joined our impressive list of sponsors for the 2010 Canadian Enduro Championship. Kymco manufactures high quality scooters, ATV's and street bikes that are available all across Canada. Kymco will be giving away a scooter (exact giveaway model to be decided later) to the Overall Pro Champion at the end of the season!

Dec 4 - Royal Distributing is back for 2010

Royal Distributing has confirmed their commitment to the 2010 Canadian Enduro Championship. They are working together with our team from World Enduro Canada to create a better show for next season. We will have the use of their truck once again to transport motorcycles across the country so any riders who want to reserve a spot (it sold out both directions last year) need to get their name in as soon as possible. Rates for 2010 season will be $750 per bike (includes space for some gear) for a round trip to the west or east rounds. Drop locations will be the same as last year - contact Trevor Wideman for exact details and to book reservations.

November 25 - Shane Cuthbertson preparing for 2010

#20 Shane Cuthbertson is busy preparing for the 2010 season. This year Shane is switching to the E2 class with the new Husaberg FX450 " I have been testing throughout the fall and can tell you this thing plain rips and is perfectly suited to the CEC! In fact I won two races at home on it in bone stock condition - very impressive." Shane has been Canada's international ambassador at the various extreme events like Erzburg and Romaniacs over the last few years but this year is scaling those activities back to focus on winning a championship at home. " I have reduced my international exploits this year to focus on the CEC so instead of training for extreme races I am working on dialing in my special test speed." We're looking forward to seeing Shane on the podium in a few months when the series opens on his home turf in Alberta.

November 15 - Toronto Motorcycle Show

Come and visit us at the Toronto Motorcycle Show Dec 11-13th. We are working with a number of event promoters and sponsors for the 2010 season and will have lots of exciting news to share. On the Friday evening be sure to join us at the industry party at one of the pubs across the street from the convention center (I think its at the Irish pub under the Loose Moose but come see us for accurate location) The entertainment will be provided by the Official World Enduro Canada band - Johnny Rev and the Pushrods - featuring our own Sean Wiesner on drums. Sept 23 - Metzeler Championship Tire Awards

Metzeler is giving a set of tires to each of the Pro Class Champions (E1, E2, E3, Vet Pro) as well as each of the Inside MotoX and Off Road Magazine Eastern and Western Amateur Champions. Each of the winners needs to contact us so we can send out the their tires.

Sept 21 - Parry Sound wrap up

The final rounds of the 2009 Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship was held in beautiful Parry Sound on the weekend. Matt McAnanama and his Dirtybikes.ca crew put on a stellar event. The course was a short loop which the Pro's and A riders ran 4 times, B's Vets and Super Vets 3 times and the C and Women class going around twice. The test were long which the riders really enjoyed. Check out some great video footage from Directmotocross.com The wrap up party was held at the Stockey Center overlooking the water in downtown Parry Sound on Sunday night where National Champions were crowned in both the Pro and Amateur classes. Sept 14 - Labelle event a huge success

Rounds 5 & 6 held in Labelle Quebec were a huge success. The weather was great and the course could be considered the most difficult so far. The transfer trail was very technical challenging the riders causing many of them to hour out. All riders agreed the tests were a lot of fun, especially the huge grass track used for the MX test. On Sunday after the final MX test a few of the pro's were hanging around watching the last few riders come through and in front of a number of spectators BMW's Guy Giroux issues a challenge to any riders who wanted to have a real bar to bar MX race. Five riders lined up and Guy showed his skill on the grass track taking the win ahead of Yamaha's Brian Wojnarowski and KTM's Scott Bowes. Aug 22 - Parry Sound & Labelle rounds update

The final rounds of the 2009 Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championships are rapidly approaching.  We need to remind all competitors that a working headlight and tailight will be required for both of these events but you will NOT need a motorcycle license or license plate.  If anyone needs a light kit LRP has Enduro Engineering Lighting Kits available for KTM motorcycles and Sicass light kits for all other brands.  Riders can contact their local dealers or if they have questions contact Allan directly (450)292-3170.  Please visit our event pages Parry Sound, ON & Labelle, PQ for accommodation, registration and general event information.
