Nov 7 - Ontario Cross Country Fall Series Champions

The 2011 Season was exciting and provided Ontario’s cross country racers with some great new venues that will all return in 2012. Walton, Gopher Dunes, Parry Sound and RPM MX park were well recieved additions to the series other locations – Motopark, Burnt River, and Wingham. Plans are in the works to expand to more new locations in 2012 as well as expand some of the new courses.
WEC was pleased to see a lot of new riders in the series. At Gopher Dunes alone there were over 30 new riders giving XC racing a try for the first time! Thanks to the progression system we have in place there were new faces on the podiums in many classes. It was great to see veteran Pro’s like Bryan Marshall get on the box as well as some of our newer Pro’s Jesse Grummet, Josh Long and Nathan Bles. In the Intermediate class the fall series saw Jason Kleingeld, Dave Annete, Dave Taplay and Josh Phillips on the box. For more results please visit our site.

Oct 13 - Wheatley event to try out the two - one hour moto format!!!
There have been a number of riders interested in trying out two one hour moto format instead of the normal 2 hour long event so we have decided to give it a try. The Erie Ramblers - the organizers of this event - feel it will make for an interesting change and will attract more MX riders to try a Cross Country event. The WORCS series switched to this format this year and after an adjustment period it has proven to be prefered by the racers. WEC will poll riders afterwards to see if they would like more events to be run this way in the future. Please check out the Wheatley event page for the days race schedule.
Sept 12 - Motopark is ready for Canada's fastest Off road racers - We want our Ontario Cross Country racers there!
The final course adjustments are almost complete and Motopark is ready to host the final rounds of the 2011 Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship this weekend. If you are a Cross Country racer and want to try Enduro this is the one for you. It is going to be an exciting and fun course - the Pro's will be challenged in new ways and the Amateur riders wont be forced to endure bike breaking terrain. At the end of the weekend the fastest riders in the country will be recognized. We will present both the Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship awards and the overall Canadian Championship awards in all classes! Aug 29 - Lockhart KTM Gopher Dunes XC a huge success.
The legendary MX track attracted the largest turnout of the season with over 120 riders competing on the 10 km course. There were new riders on the podium in a number of classes including the Pro Class with Josh Long and Nathan Bles finishing ahead of Brian Wojnarowski who has won every race this season. Aug 22 - Fall Series starts this Saturday at Lockhart KTM Gopher Dunes XC
Round one of the Wiesner Insurance Ontario Cross Country Championships Fall Series is fast approaching and the Gopher Dunes facility is preparing for a race like none other. This is being billed as a shootout between the top racers in Ontario Off-Road and the local Pro Motocross contingent. With the full 1.7 kilometre National MX course used mixed with 10+ kms of fast woods trails along with manufactured obstacles, it is hard to say which group will really have the advantage. What we can say is that the winners at this event will definitely be the fastest of the fast. As such, we will be awarding a free entry to the Ontario Round of the Canadian Enduro Championship ($100 value) to the winner of each adult class. The Ontario CEC will take place at Motopark in Chatsworth, Ontario September 17th and 18th.
Motocross racers need not be intimidated by the course design. Due to the layout of this specific facility, no “special off-road” equipment like hand guards, skid plates, etc will be needed. Your bike is good to go as prepared for any local MX race.
For those off-road racers unfamiliar with this great facility, sand is the name of the game here. There will be none of the old school, single file first and second gear trails here and there’s lots of passing opportunities.

June 8 - CORE hosting a Forma boot day at Parry Sound events on 18th & 19th
From Core - The Competition Off Road Equipment (CORE) traveling road show pulls into Parry Sound June 18th and 19th for the 3rd round of the WEC Ontario Cross Country Championship June and the 1st round of the Dirty Bikes 2011 XSprint Series.

June 6 - Walton an event to remember

May 28 - Shelburne Kids Enduro a huge hit!
40 young racers showed up in Shelburne to get a taste of how to ride an Enduro. Fun was had by all!! Check out the RESULTS - remember the names because some of these kids will soon be competing at the Canadian Enduro Championships!
Feb 22 - Husqvarna Motorcycles - Presenting Sponsor of Ontario Cross Country Championship
Husqvarna Motorcycles have partnered with WEC as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2011 Ontario Cross Country Championship. Feb 12 - Wiesner Insurance the Title Sponsor of the 2011 Ontario Cross Country Championship
Wiesner Insurance - a leader in motorcycle insurance - will be the Title Sponsor of the 2011 Ontario Cross Country Championship. This year the $100 Pro Holeshot award will be back and in addition one class will be randomly selected for the Wiesner Insurance $100 Fastest Lap Award. Utilizing WEC's accurate timekeeping system the rider from the pre-chosen class who records the fastest lap of the day in their class will receive the award.
Dec 29 - XC rule changes & schedule for 2011
The 2011 schedule is close to being done. We are excited to announce we will have some new venues to race at in 2011. June 5th will be our first event at the epic Walton raceway - we are excited to have Chris Lee and his group as part of our promoters group. The full schedule will be out in January. Nov 23 - Ontario Cross Country Fall Championship - Rider Advancements
After the exciting fall championship series there are a number of riders who will be advancing. Please check the list on our Main CC page to see if you will be moving into the next class. Congratulations to all the riders who are moving up!

Nov 7 - Wiesner Insurance Moto Park Finale
A strong contingent of brave riders made the trip to Moto Park for the final event of the season. A light snow on Friday left the park with a few millimeters of snow - enough to make for a very picturesque morning race. After a few riders made their way around there was a distinct black line through the trees making it easy to follow the trail. The moisture made for a muddy MX track and some slippery trail sections but the riders all agreed it was a lot of fun! Kevin Cockayne took the Wiesner Insurance holeshot - AGAIN - but after two laps Yamaha's Brian Wojnarowski was in the lead and starting to pull away. Unfortunately Brian's lead was short lived when he broke his chain guide on a rock and wadded his chain. Kevin took the Pro win and the Fall Series Pro Championship. Vet Master winner Paul Andratis was having so much fun he kept going after the two hour cut off and managed to catch and pass Kevin to take the overall for the day. Way to go Paul!! Oct 31 - Erie Ramblers put on an event to be remembered
The Erie Ramblers put together an epic course that many riders were considering the best of the year. It incoportated a full MX track, endurocross section, some great single track and even a bit of a flat track. There were a number of MX racers that came out to try thier hand at Cross Country and gave the woods riders in many of the classes a run for thier money.
