9. Exhaust Systems – All motorcycles must meet sound limits of 94 dB/A measured on the "A"

How the Cross Country Series works

This series is designed for racers who are used to off road racing as well as Motocross racers. Because motorcycles do NOT need any timekeeping or lighting equipment motocross racers are encouraged to participate. As long as motorcycles are 94db or less you can race.

The events are 1.5 to 2.5 hours long depending on the class your riding so you get lots of saddle time. You line up at the start with your class for a dead engine start. Classes are released one minute apart with the fastest groups leaving first. You wear an electronic transponder and each lap, which are usually 10 -20 minutes long, you go through the scoring tower and can see where you are currently placed. You have the opportunity to go through the pits for fuel or repairs each lap but it will slow you down. An oversized fuel tank is a definite advantage. Once the time limit is reached riders coming through the timing towers are told they are done. Winner is determined by number of laps completed in least amount of time.
